Strategic Plan of the Franklin ISD School Health Advisory Council


To ensure that all children, grades PK-12, will receive appropriate sequential health education which reflects the current health issues facing the local community, and thus these students.


To help and advice curriculum writers, textbook committees, cafeteria personnel and teachers concerning the identified students’ needs regarding the knowledge and skills necessary for the students to adopt and maintain healthy attitudes and behaviors throughout their lives.


By the start of next academic year, the SHAC committee will advise the cafeteria personnel on preparing and planning nutritious meals.

By the start of the next academic year, the SHAC will advise the health and physical education teachers on appropriate activities to help align with the TEKS.

In an adoption year, the SHAC will review health books that are up for adoption.
