The Franklin ISD Technology Department is committed to providing our students, teachers, administrators and staff the best possible technological learning and working environments possible.

FISD Cloud

Students, staff and parents each have their own set of personalized applications in our FISD Cloud, maintained and supported by the FISD Technology Department.  Parents have access to tools that allow them to participate in, and follow their student's academic progress. Ascender Parent Portal gives parents direct access to their student's grades and attendance.

Students can use a variety of instructional tools from home and school. Middle and High School students have an FISD Gmail account that allows them access to Google Drive, a comprehensive application that enables students and teachers to collaborate and communicate online. FISD offers an array of applications for Grades K-12.

Hardware, Network Services and Support

To access and use the available tools appropriately, a robust infrastructure of network services, hardware and support services needs to be in place. FISD Technology Department maintains and supports internet access, wired and wireless for all campuses, administrative building, and FISD facilities.

FISD Technology department supports the end users using a help desk ticket system to ensure all technology repairs can be completed on a timely manner. The department supports over 1,000 computing devices, ceiling and/or mobile projectors/displays, document cameras, campus wide PA/bell/clock systems, video broadcast systems, and all other technology hardware and software needs an end user might have in the district.

Digital Environment

Above all, we aim for a safe digital environment for all. We ensure compliance with CIPA (Child Internet Protection Act) by requiring cyber training and mandating age-appropriate Digital Citizen lessons. All students annually sign an Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), promising online and offline responsible behavior. Behind the scenes, several systems, such as internet filters and firewalls, are in place to keep our students safe.
